Ha! When our boys were (finally) ready to come out of isolettes, they only had these industrial type cribs available (instead of the gentle looking plastic bins they used in the regular maternity ward). I kept wanting to sneak in a can of wd-40 to help with the baby rousing squeeeeeeeee that happened each time I lowered or raised the side. Yay for growing babies!
Yahh for big crib! She's is just a sweet little pea! You are doing a wonderful job Jenn, most woman wouldn't be able to handle half of what you've been thu. Be proud of yourself! You are a warrior!
When my oldest was admitted for seizure precautions (she'd been ill for days and had a seizure due to electrolyte imbalances) she was in this HUGE metal cage thing with pads on the sides. It was positively mideval. I never closed it all the way because it was just too creepy :)
She'll be crawling out of her crib at home before you know it!
I'm catching up on blog reading, because... that's what I do these days, not just on blog stuff but on most things!
Ainsley is so cute in her gigantic crib! And with all of the cozy blankets!
Also, just relating... I'm really having a hard time juggling everything also. It's gotten better, but it's still hard. And I know your NICU, and working, and mothering Olivia has got to be just soooo much. One day at a time, I guess.
And beer and Twix on those exceptionally hard days! :)
Wow!! She looks great! The pic is a littl deja vu for me...I have a very similar pic of Elizabeth in the NICU when she graduated to the "big girl" crib, with the same musical seahorse toy (which now keeps her company in her crib at home).
I don't know you, or her, but I feel love for her when I look at this picture. I just want to scoop her up and hold her...is that weird? No, not at all...she's adorable. can't wait to hear when she is going home, because i know it will be soon. You did say that she would be the drama queen! :)
So glad she's in a crib! That seems like a step in the right direction.
Did want to tell you that if Evelyn's autopsy report exists, you can usually go down to medical records and get a copy for about a dollar. They like to have a doctor explain these things to you, but sometimes you can't wait.
Yay!!! That is such a happy day when they finally get a crib! It makes it feel much more homey and less hospitally. Have they moved you to private room? Those are the bomb with the tv's and the itsy bitsy almost twin sized beds that my husband and I were basically laying on top of eachother in. Now if only they could figure out a way to let you bring food in there... It would make things so much better!
i don't know anything about soft pallet issues and eating, but I do know that there is another blog out there... http://bellaandherfella.wordpress.com- her son had a cleft pallet at birth and im fairly certain she can shed some light on the eating issues...
Also- Ainsley looks amazing and I am so happy that she is growing and doing well- she's gonna be winning for a long time to come. I just wanna hug your whole family.
