Our Daily Chaos

Our friend Felicia came to take photos of us in the NICU to put on display at the Just Relax benefit.  Hard to believe this was already over 2 months ago!

We decided right away to not really change anything in the room. Because why try to pretend we are somewhere else? This is our life right now, and it won't be this way forever. It's hard sometimes but that doesn't mean I don't want to remember.

2 year Old + iPhone + NICU + Netflix Streaming = Winning.

Hello, I refuse to stand still so I think I'll carry around my illegal snacks, kthxbai.
I love how we are all trying to convince Olivia to chill out.
Even Ainsley.
Love this one.
They had just started rounds and Ainsley was being totally nosy about it.
Olivia finds the NICU to be exhausting, dahling.
As does her mother.
The estrogen that will rule Mark for the rest of his life.
Start getting comfortable with tampon purchasing, Mark!
Ainsley, getting a taste of what she's in for when she comes home.
I think instead of smiling for these pictures,
Ainsley was going for "fat and intrigued."
Nailed it!
I love daddy because he lets me lay down and be lazy.
Could I interest you in a raspberry?  Or a nibble of wrist chub?
We have a giant canvas of this one.

Beautiful Family Photos, thank you for sharing these! (Ps - you look gorgeous and so proud, Momma... I know I don't know how to understand all that you are going through - but I wish you strength and hope and health.)

I love these! I could just nibble her wrist and leg chubs!!! And you do look fabulous! Thanks for sharing them... you will actually cherish these. When my youngest was in his "box" with all the wires and tubes attached, I still instructed my Mark to take pictures to bring back to show me, and my parents took a ton of him. My inlaws, however, refused to take any photos of him "in that condition" because it was just "too sad." F them. I still love the pictures of the "baby in the box." And he was the biggest in there, which prompted many inappropriate comments by us as to how many of the other preemies he ate.

Great pictures - thanks for sharing! Loving the chubs. And yes, we also give our two year old an iPhone to keep her distracted. :)

I love their fluffy pink dresses! Too much cuteness! Poor Mark, before ya know it he'll be wearing pink fluffy shirts, too. And think it's totally normal menswear.

Lovely photos. And I haven't been there, but your second paragraph seems so right on. I do hope she gets to come home soon, but right now, the NICU and what's happened there is a hugely important part of your lives.

It's good to see something pleasant in the NICU. Can't wait to see it when you're able to do these at home too.

Beautiful photos, beautiful family. Can't imagine how hard it is to do what you're doing. We spent a couple of weeks in the PICU when my youngest was born because she stopped breathing and turned blue when we took her home (9x in all, over 12 days in the PICU). And I was at first reluctant to take photos of her in there, all hooked up to the stuff and with oxygen in her nose and EEG gauze wrapped around her little head, but then I thought, why shouldn't she have her own pictures from when she was 3 days old, 4 days old, just like her sister? So now we have them. That is your life and it's nice to document it, even if it isn't nice to be there. Stay strong and know that there are lots of people out here rooting for you and Miss Ainsley.
