Chuck E Cheese's Review and Sweepstakes!

How about a chance to win a $100 gift card to Chuck E. Cheese's?

I hadn't been to Chuck E. Cheese's in a long time. And by long, I mean the past 25-ish years! My last experience with Chuck E. Cheese's was in elementary school when my parents took me to play as a reward for getting good grades. A tradition I'd like to continue with my kids for sure! I was always so excited to play skeeball even though I sucked at it!

Of course, I was on the kid end then, and I thought it was really fun. As an adult with a 3 and a half year old (or as a friend calls it, Threenager)...I wasn't sure. In all fairness, anything with a threenager in tow can be bliss or torture, depending entirely on the nap situation.

So, what to do? Risk it alone with my threenager? Or invite my favorite friends and THEIR threenagers?
I'm codependent, what can I say?
(That would be my threenager's blur head in the bottom left corner.)
(And that is my ticket pyramid on the table.)

OHMAIGAHD you guys, we had so much fun!!

My very favorite thing was the Kid Check when you walk in the door. Each parent and child get a matching number stamps (invisible, so you don't look like you were out clubbing...with your toddler...at the bar) and no kid is allowed out the door without an adult who has the matching stamp. So this basically means that I was able to actually talk to grown ups! About something other than the potty/toe jam/popsicles/Disney Jr. without worrying that my kid would be roaming the parking lot alone or with some stranger.
Threenagers:
Too engrossed in threenager conversation to
smile for me.

They have a giant menu and everything was reasonably priced. We chose to stick with the traditional Chuck E. Cheese's Cheese pizza, which was enjoyed by threenagers and adults alike and was destroyed quickly. And do you know what else they have? COFFEE. A very important requirement for me, as I require near constant caffeination.
YUMMMMM!
There is something for everyone to do. Everything is only one token, and a token is 25 cents or less. There are rides for little kids, video games, easy games, and even a little playground. Our little group of kiddos were having fun just watching the lights on the games. Which is great because it is free to get in. So this can be a really affordable way for your kids to have fun with their friends while you eat and talk with your friends.
They even have games for grown ups who have no shame.
No shame at all.

Anytime I go to a play place intended for children, I worry about All of the Germs, ZOMG. Because kids are gross. I was totally impressed with how clean everything was! You were asked to sanitize your hands when you came in and there were hand sanitizers available all over the place. The bathrooms were also very clean, which is key for the newly potty trained!
In this picture, I'm telling her to yell,
"CHUCK E. CHEESE"
and I am the only one who is yelling,
"CHUCK E. CHEESE"
I would call Olivia's first trip to Chuck E. Cheese's a huge success! We will go back for sure, because I love a place where I can let my kid have fun and play while I talk with my friends. It was fun for Olivia to pick out prizes at the end of the trip. She got two tattoos and a little spider and she was over the moon excited about it.
For more information, visit Chuck E. Cheese's website and stay connected by liking Chuck E. Cheese's page on Facebook.
So, anyway. This is actually a sweepstakes and you can win! All you have to do is answer the following question in the comments:

Why does your family love Chuck E. Cheese's?

And, of course there are rules and additional ways to win, so here they are:

No duplicate comments.
You may receive (2) total entries by selecting from the following entry methods:

a) Leave a comment in response to the sweepstakes prompt on this post
b) Tweet (public message) about this promotion; including exactly the following unique term in your tweet message: ""#SweepstakesEntry""; and leave the URL to that tweet in a comment on this post
c) Blog about this promotion and leave the URL to that post in a comment on this post
d) For those with no Twitter or blog, read the official rules to learn about an alternate form of entry.

This giveaway is open to US Residents age 18 or older. Winners will be selected via random draw, and will be notified by e-mail. You have 72 hours to get back to me, otherwise a new winner will be selected.

The Official Rules are available here.
This sweepstakes runs from 9/4/2012-10/4/2012.

Be sure to visit the Chuck E. Cheese's brand page on BlogHer.com where you can read other bloggers’ reviews and find more chances to win!

Thingy is amazing one of the reasons we choose Chuck E Cheese over Johns incredible pizza:)

Hubby and I used to go all the time when we were young and fun, we had great date nights playing games (also with no shame). Haven't been back since we had the kid, strangely enough. Giftcard would remedy that. :)

We love the low cost of the tokens, but most of all we love the creepy animatronics!

The best part that I like is that you can dine right in the play area. Well, it isnt that fun but at least you can keep an eye (or 4 on your kid).

My almost two-year-old hasn't been to CEC yet, but when I used to nanny over the summer in college I always LOVED the ticket muncher (which sounds totally dirty, I know). The girls I watched would play for hours and then guess how many tickets they had before the monster ate them :)

We love Chuck E Cheese. We go at least once a month. It is a great place- when it isn't crowded. :)

I love their pizza! My kids love everything!

Shannon said...

Everything you said, plus ...

They have the BEST salad bar. I don't know what it is, but I love that thing.

Also, I kick skee-ball's ass.

And yadda, yadda, the rest of my family probably likes it too.

Jennifer Ciccon said...

We LOVE Chuck E Cheese...I love that you can eat, drink and conversate with your friends and your kids can go be crazy and not worry about leaving too. I like their pizza and the one by us even has a salad bar! It's great!!

Nicole said...

We LOVE CEC, but only on Sunday mornings at 9 am when no one else is there. It is the greatest!!!

Brooke said...

Threenager...lol! We've actually never been to Chuck E. Cheese, but would love to go check it out!

Wendy said...

In their 5 years, we've never taken M&L to CEC. How loud is it? We did bounce places/ arcades back in PA, but it was so loud with screeching kids and singing games that M&L didn't want to go again. Was it pretty noisy? When might be a good day/time to go?

Noelle Spooner said...

I love Chuck E Cheese. I take my two year old there every couple of weeks. Ours is so clean and lots of fun.

We really LOVED the pizza. I like that I can take my daughter somewhere indoors where she can play safely. We took her for the first time on a rainy day. It was so much fun!

We went to Chuck E Cheese for my nephew's birthday a few years ago and had our picture sketched by one of their picture sketching thing-a-ma-jigs. It's still one of our favorite photos of us!

I also haven't been since elementary school but would love to take my 3 year old!

The NKF said...

Well, I don't think I've ever been to a Chuck E. Cheese's so I can't say we "love" it, though now I do feel tempted to go, so I guess the promotion is working.

Annegirrl said...

Hot damn! We love Chuck E Cheese! We were actually there yesterday because it is excellent bribery material to keep your kid from maiming another child at school. Five days without injuring another kid gets you a trip to Chuck E Cheese. It's the place where you get cool prizes and can scare the pants off your two year old sister when Chuck E. comes out to visit.

I took my 2.5 year old there a few months ago and he hasn't stopped talking about it since! Seriously, one time and he was obsessed.

Their pizza was actually yummy and I liked that all the games/rides were only one token. So, we got out of there with only spending $40 for dinner and fun for the whole family, which I thought was pretty good!

Ginger said...

We haven't taken our 19 month old yet, but I looooooooooved it as a kid. I liked the game where the monsters pop up and you bash them with the big hammer. haha

theshulers said...

We love Chuck E Cheese, because it's an affordable and fun activity with coupons. How often can a family of three eat, play, and visit for less than $20? Pretty rarely!

Meridith said...

Oh my goodness, I haven't been since I was a kid! My favorite thing was always skee ball, and picking out prizes at the end! Do they still have the weird life-size puppet show??

Brad & Rachel said...

I love Chuck E. Cheese for the amazeballs salad bar! Yum! Haha, but my family loves it because it's reasonably affordable for us and we can all have a good time together. My 2 1/2 year old (going on 12 mind you) LOVES the games!

My 2 year old loves Chuck E Cheese. He's at a stage right now where you don't even have to put in tokens for him to play the games, he can just watch or see the lights and he thinks he's playing! Win Win b/c then I can spend the tokens!! : )
